This superb palette knife painted oil painting on canvas is signed Burnett and was painted by the well respected artist Caroline Burnett. The scene is of the Moulin Rouge, one of the most famous buildings in Paris and is the spiritual birthplace of the modern form of the Can Can dance. Depicted just as it's starting to get dark, figures are seen walking in the street outside the building and to the side there is a little French flower shop. I have seen the Moulin Rouge featured in Burnetts paintings a few times but never with the vibrancy and clarity displayed in this delightful painting. The signature is clear and is located in the bottom right of the oil painting. The painting measures approx 20" x 16" excluding the frame. 23.25" x 19.25" including the frame.
